Making GAINS while saving the world

Lately I've been thinking about my teenage years. I used to be completely obsessed with saving the world and doing good for people someday. I would always fantasise about being a very wealthy doctor who could invest in ecology and in goodwill. I was convinced that, in order to make a change, you need to make a whole flock move. A mass of people. It didn't make sense to me to fight smaller battles. All I wanted, was to hit big and hit hard.

Somewhere along the way, that attention shifted. I was wrong all along. I mean, I wasn't very wrong, but I was aiming for the kind of change figures like Bill Gates did. But for Bill Gates to get to where he was, he needed to take it all step by step. His every day actions built his empire and with that, his actions and products changed the world person by person, country by country.

That attention that shifted within me, shifted towards a solution to many health riddles and to make the world a greener, longer-lasting and better looking for us all. Donald Trump might have rejected the Paris Climate Agreement, but that shouldn't mean we should. At least, that doesn't mean that I will.

I've written about how getting enough protein as a vegan is important and easy. In the fitness industry, we are all very convinced that we need as much meat as possible to get bigger and stronger. No need fellas and gals, you can all be perfectly big and strong with less or no meat at all. Jon Venus is the perfect example of a beautiful physique built by all plants and no meat (or animal products).

So before you lose your panties, hear me out. I'm not saying we all need to be vegan right now. I'm saying we should all have at least one or two vegan days per week. Some people will feel called and inspired and will go all the way to a completely vegan lifestyle. Which is fine, you will still be massive and shredded as hell. Promised! The more people eat vegan products, the more commercialised this lifestyle will be and the easier it will be to walk into a store or a restaurant and order animal-free food. It's already happening all around you and you can't even ignore it. I mean, the fact that I'm writing about this is already proof enough that something's stirring.

So let's make some gains while saving the world, one vegan day at the time.
